The Holiday Santa Shoppe was a hit with students! Charleston Elementary School earned 20% of the profit, or $430.00, to put into the Chairs for Excellence fund! Because this was the first time I have ever run a holiday shop, there was a bit of a learning curve to overcome. The most valuable lesson I learned is that if we decide to repeat the shop next year, recruiting more volunteer help will be critical! It was a TON of work for just a couple of volunteers! With that said, helping the kids pick out their gifts and enabling them to experience the gift of giving was worth every exhaustive minute!
We would like to know what you think! Should we do it again next year? Was the merchandise what you expected, or should we research another holiday shop company? Would you consider assisting with the set-up, helping student shoppers, or giving a hand boxing up leftover merchandise next year? What did your child(ren) say about the experience? You can share your feedback by answering a short 5 question survey which you can find on the Feedback tab, or here.
